Missouri Beaches

If you are traveling through the Missouri this summer and are looking for a perfect beach getaway for you and your family, consider checking out one of these beautiful locations. Popular with locals and tourists alike, these beaches and recreational areas offer a fun-filled place to cool down and take a break from your travels.

Fugitive Beach in Rolla

Located just outside of St. Louis is a popular beach that is not known to many travelers. Locals, however, come to this beach to get away from the city and escape the hustle and bustle of their day-to-day lives. Fugitive Beach is a unique location that offers a fun spot to cool off from the summer heat. With its deep blue water and soft, cool sand, it is the perfect spot to beat the heat and spend the day with your family and friends. The location offers a myriad of activities, from kayaking and canoeing, to a sleek waterslide and tubing adventures. This man-made recreational site is sure to please every member of your traveling party.

Twin Lakes Recreation Area

If you are looking for a beach where you can bring your dog and spend the afternoon frolicking together, then head on over to the Twin Lakes Recreation Area. At Lakeside and Paws Pond, there is endless opportunity for off-leash fun for you and your four-legged friend. Lakeside is perfect for pups of all sizes spring through fall. The area is fenced in on three sides, making it easier to control the movement of your pets. The space includes a 16-acre fishing lake for owners and pets to enjoy as well. Paws Pond Dog Park was created for small dogs and their owners. To play in this space, dogs can be no taller than 18 inches and have to be closely monitored by their owners at all times.

Moonshine Beach Recreational Area

This popular swimming beach is located on the Shore of Table Rock Lake. The vast openness of the area lends to the feeling that visitors are visiting the ocean, rather than spending the day at a lake. Surrounded by a forest of oak and hickory trees, this breathtakingly beautiful spot is a great day trip for those who are vacationing in nearby Branson. The location offers countless activities from picnicking, scuba diving, boating, fishing, and swimming, to birdwatching and hunting. It is also popular for sunbathing and as an overall ‘hangout’ spot for vacationers of all ages.
