In addition to the usual ranch work that is performed daily, there are a multitude of daily riding options available to each guest. The grounds also include beautiful hiking trails and numerous fishing opportunities in the miles of Sweet Grass Creek, high alpine lakes, or via rowboat on one of the ponds.
The Ranch seeks to provide fun for the entire family.
Activities onsite include a natural water slide, inner tubing on the creek, campfires, spa massages, cattle drives, hikes, photography seminars and a wide array of other indoor and outdoor games. Evenings at the Ranch give way to opportunities to visit with new-found friends, enjoy a time around the campfire, play cards, take advantage of the hot tub, or play a round of horseshoes.
If you wish to take part in an authentic cattle drive, the Ranch has a number of them scheduled throughout the summer. Dates this year include:
- The week of June 14
- The week of July 26
- The final week of July and the first week of August
- The first two weeks of September
Moving the cattle is a unique opportunity for guests as they get to share in the experience and challenges that often go along with moving a herd. During these events, cattle are moved from one ranch to another or to a different grazing land. As this is not necessarily a precise science, the length of time it takes to move the cattle can vary so dates and timeframes are subject to change. There is an opportunity to participate in a multi-day cattle drive as well. This opportunity involves two overnight stays in a tent while the cattle are being moved. Guests can inquire about the dates and times for this when they are seeking to book their stay.
