If you are planning on avoiding the holiday rush by plane this holiday season and instead, plan on driving to your vacation destination, we invite you to start planning with us. Bill Bailey Travel Club welcomes you to take a look at some helpful holiday driving tips for you and your family this season. Make your journey more successful, avoid issues and plan ahead with Bill Bailey Travel Club.
Road trips have been a part of the American tradition since the advent of the modern vehicle however, modern road trips are a bit different than those of the past. While as children, our activities were limited to pens or pencils and the I spy games or perhaps a rousing game of 99 bottles on the wall, today, our children are privy to a host of electronic devices, games and equipment.
While most of us will plan on keeping the kids busy most of the time thanks to these modern conveniences, a great tip for your family is to put the electronics down for a while. Everything in moderation, plan to spend some quality time talking to your kids as well during the trip, you will be glad you did.
Bring plenty of snacks for the drive. We have all had our fair share of experiences with hungry kids and no access to a snack, which makes for an unhappy journey. You can avoid this stress and save money by bringing snacks including meat or cheese, crackers, chips or granola bars.
Get out of the car and plan some time away from the car. It doesn’t have to be a long jaunt, but an hour or so out of the car just taking a walk or enjoying a store or play area will help to relax both you and the kids and allow for some much needed quiet time when the kids are sleeping later on.
Let the kids be a part of the trip. Let them help you choose where to stop and what to see along the way. Family participation is a great way to bring the family together.
We hope these tips will help you make the most of your experiences this holiday season. Enjoy your holiday travels no matter where you go.
